Have you heard about the 3-day, ten-pound diet program? It's been about because the mid-1980s and much like an urban legend, absolutely everyone knows somebody who knows a person who lost 10 pounds in 3 days following the diet regime. It's been passed about significantly more than a chain letter.
Does the three-day, 10-pound diet plan function? Well, it will almost certainly make you lose some weight - but quite possibly not 10 pounds. Also, seeing as how it was created by unknown sources over 20 years ago, the day-to-day menu seems hilariously outdated - as properly as the recommendation to drink at least 4 glasses of water per day (professionals now advocate at least 8 glasses).
Day 1
- Breakfast - Black coffee or tea with 1-two packets Sweet & Low or Equal, 1/2 grapefruit or juice, 1 piece of toast with 1 tablespoon peanut butter
- Lunch - 1/2 cup tuna, 1 piece of toast, black coffee or tea
- Dinner - 3 ounces any lean meat or chicken, 1 cup green beans, 1 cup carrots, 1 apple, 1 cup regular vanilla ice cream
Day two
- Breakfast - Black coffee or tea, 1 egg, 1/two banana, 1 piece toast
- Lunch - 1 cup cottage cheese or tuna, 8 typical saltine crackers
- Dinner - two beef franks (hot dogs), 1 cup broccoli or cabbage, 1/two cup carrots, 1/2 banana, 1/two cup typical vanilla ice cream
Day 3
- Breakfast - Black coffee or tea, five common saltine crackers, 1 ounce cheddar cheese, 1 apple
- Lunch - Black coffee or tea, 1 boiled egg, 1 piece toast
- Dinner - 1 cup tuna, 1 cup carrots, 1 cup cauliflower, 1 cup melon, 1/two cup regular vanilla ice cream
Well, there you have it, in all of its 1980s glory - from the Sweet & Low appropriate down to the hot dogs and ice cream.
Whatever weight loss takes place on the 3-day, ten-pound diet is going to be due to the exceptionally low number of calories you're consuming, as nicely as water loss (although how you're supposed to lose water even though eating salted tuna and hot dogs, no one can say).
When technically this diet could be repeated over and more than again for weight loss (with four-5 day breaks in between), it's not advised in any way. Initially of all, if you eat like this for any length of time, confident you'll lose the weight - but you are going to gain it appropriate back as soon as you go back to your typical dietary habits. Secondly, it is not a diverse eating plan - you're going to get extremely, particularly tired of consuming the exact same things all the time. And finally, nowhere in the diet program that's been passed down by means of the ages is there any mention of exercise.
